Recently been suffering intermitently, now becoming worse.
Checked taps, r/h side was blocked, cleared this but I believe this is a reserve, don't know how the tap works??
Could this be a pump problem, (it is a pump isn't it?)?

There is a pump, yes.

I had the same thing on my 900, truned out to be a blocked tank breather valve. Try riding with the fuel cap half open (carefully) and see if it 'fixes' it. If it does you'll find a valve type thing under the lock mechanism, try clearing it out (or just remove it).

I will try the breather tomorrow.
Again, do yopu know the workings of the r/h tap.
Mine is a screw out cap with a sort of plunger with an o ring behind it.??

Same on mine, but it shouldn't really matter. It's not a reserve, but you could use it like that I guess. The right hand tap just allows the fuel in the right hand side of the tank to flow to the other tap, so assuming you have a full tank you could turn it off and not get fuel starvation (if the right tap is off you could run the left hand side dry though). Unplug the pipe from it and if fuel pisses out you can rule it out completely.
