May bank holiday was a dash down to Treen, within sight of Land's End in Cornwall. It was sunny, windy and spectacular.

Early Saturday morning the tide was out exposing the beach (which disappears at high tide). Unusually the surf was huge.

Just around the corner is Porth Curno where the trans-atlantic cables went into the sea. Artefacts from this era and WW2 litter this part of the coast.

It was only a 1.5m low tide, but the beach was still big

The climb down is easier than it looks but keeps the beach free from crowds most of the year
